A morning tea ritual that's more than it seems.
The Estika Project is currently about halfway through pre-production. The screenplay is complete, along with some initial concept pieces. Additional concept art is underway which will be followed by a shot list, a model list, and a audio & effects list... and perhaps a storyboard. Then, it's on to production!
Jul 10, 2003 The character of "Majala Estika" is first conceived, in the 3rd draft of the screenplay for Visions. She is to be Aranik Kayem's former master (and still his mentor and close friend).
Jan 29, 2004 Based on her appearance in Visions, I wrote a short bio for Estika, expanding her personality a bit. My interest in the character was growing.
Jul 05, 2004 Finished my first visual character concept for Estika.
April, 2005 Came up with initial idea for a film focusing on Majala Estika while drinking a generous cup of white tea (for which Estika and myself share an affinity!).
April, 2005 Developed initial notes and a basic narrative write-up (a productive way to pass the time during a boring meeting at work!)
May 01, 2005 Wrote the first draft of the Estika Screenplay. With only minor revisions, this draft made it through to 'final' status.
Aug 06, 2005 Finished my first substantial piece of concept art for the project, the 'Movie Poster' Scene Study.
Sep 18, 2005 Officially launched the project, taking it online, along with a major re-design of the Bandar Animation website with a project-specific visual focus!
